Though a tranquil scene, the lake gently undulates, rocking the boat toward dark mountains splitting sea and sky. Mounds in layered gray curves back back back to airbrushed clouds allowing muted light.
Could be a reflection on grief, three years later. Like the lake, grief still pulses, softly. The boat of Dad's death sailed past three years ago, leaving my blue-gray mood in its wake.
Mountains, lush green idylls of his life changed to charcoal in his illness, now gray layers receding into the distance. Just above the horizon, a ray of light emanates back across the water toward me.
