mishmash mush


Thought Robert was going to cook beef tonight so I made two side dishes for it. One was potatoes, onions, and garlic to use up some potatoes I had bought at the farmers market. The other was a Mediterranean recipe, a lentil and carrot mush. One of those Is it a vegetable or is it soup? dishes. When no beef-related activity was evident by 4 p.m., I learned Robert had bumped his beef plan to tomorrow. So we had no protein for tonight until I noticed sardine tins in the pantry. Et voilà! Tacky to be sure, but hey, it worked despite being heavy on carbs. And plenty of brown mishmash mush remains to accompany the beef tomorrow.
